Fortune published the 2026 Fortune Crypto 100 this week — the most authoritative annual ranking of the most influential companies in blockchain, combining rigorous data analysis by Inca Digital with a survey of leading crypto experts. The list spans 10 categories across the full crypto stack.
The RWA story is buried in plain sight. It takes reading the full list to see it: the institutions building the infrastructure for real-world asset tokenization now dominate three of the ten categories. Traditional finance has not just entered crypto — it has become the most represented sector on the list.
The RWA Names in the Fortune Crypto 100
TradFi Category — The Institutional Backbone
The TradFi category is where the RWA thesis lives. Franklin Templeton takes the #1 spot — the same Franklin Templeton whose BENJI tokenized money market fund was among the first institutional on-chain yield products. JPMorgan Chase is #2, operating Onyx Digital Assets and the JLTXX tokenized money market fund. Goldman Sachs is #4. Morgan Stanley is #6. Bank of New York (BNY) is #9. Citigroup is #10.
Every major US bank that matters to the RWA sector is on this list. That's not a coincidence — it's a reflection of how much institutional capital has moved into tokenization infrastructure over the past two years.
Crypto Services — The RWA Infrastructure Layer
Two names stand out in the Crypto Services category: Ondo Finance at #7 and Securitize at #10. These are the two companies that arguably did the most to build the operational infrastructure of the tokenized RWA market. Ondo's OUSG and USDY brought Treasury yield on-chain. Securitize is the transfer agent behind BlackRock's BUIDL and KKR's tokenized PE fund. Both appearing in Fortune's Crypto 100, in the same category, is a clean snapshot of where the sector has arrived.
Stablecoins — The Settlement Layer
The Stablecoins category includes Tether, Circle, Sky (MakerDAO), Paxos, Frax Finance, Ethena, Curve Finance, World Liberty Financial, Société Générale, and Gemini. Every one of these directly supports RWA settlement infrastructure. Paxos issues PAXG — tokenized gold. Sky's USDS is backed partly by tokenized RWA collateral. Société Générale issued EUR CoinVertible, Europe's first bank-issued stablecoin. The "stablecoins" category is, in large part, the RWA settlement layer dressed in different terminology.
DATs & ETFs — The Asset Manager Play
BlackRock leads this category — the same BlackRock whose BUIDL fund, issued on Securitize infrastructure, became the largest tokenized money market fund within weeks of launch. Fidelity is #5. Both have tokenized product programs beyond their ETF work. The DAT/ETF category represents the institutional capital that's already on-chain.
Blockchains & Protocols — The Infrastructure
Chainlink is #4 — the oracle infrastructure that feeds real-world price data into every RWA protocol on the market. Polygon is #5 — the network where KKR's PE fund, Hamilton Lane's feeder fund, and numerous institutional tokenization programs run. Avalanche is #8 — where KKR's original tokenized fund launched and where institutional subnet architecture enables compliant tokenization. These aren't just blockchain protocols — they're RWA infrastructure layers.
The Bigger Pattern
The 2026 Fortune Crypto 100 is the clearest single-document evidence that the divide between traditional finance and blockchain infrastructure has collapsed. The institutions that dominated the Fortune 500 for decades — JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Franklin Templeton — are now ranked in the same list as Coinbase, Ethereum, and Uniswap.
That crossover is the RWA thesis in a single data point. The largest pools of capital in the world are moving on-chain. The question was never whether institutions would adopt blockchain — it was when. The Fortune Crypto 100 answers that question with a list.
