In the week of October 5–9, Singapore hosted more concentrated RWA tokenization activity than any other city has in any other week. TOKEN2049, the largest crypto conference in the world, brought 25,000 attendees from 160 countries to Marina Bay Sands on October 7–8. But the most substantive RWA content happened in the days before and after — in a cluster of side events that treated institutional tokenization not as a conference theme but as the main event.
Mantle RWA Day — October 6
The most focused RWA programming of the week was Mantle's RWA Day, held on October 6 at The Exchange in Singapore Land Tower — the day before the TOKEN2049 main conference opened. The half-day event ran from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM and drew approximately 1,000 attendees, with the organizers reporting that 57% held C-suite, founder, or director-level positions across DeFi, institutional finance, and trading.
The event was co-hosted by Mantle, Byreal, Tencent Cloud, InsightX, and PWT.AI. Panels were moderated by Jacquelyn Melinek of Token Relations and Joshua Cheong of Mantle. Speakers included Liam Karwan of Chainlink Labs, Kevin Chan of Grove, Nathan Ma of DMZ Finance, and DavideFi of Merchant Moe. Sessions covered the onchain capital stack, the state of the RWA market in 2026, and the infrastructure, liquidity, and market structures shaping where tokenized assets trade.
The most significant announcement came from Mantle itself, made at a separate Mantle Mixer event the same week: Mantle launched Tokenization-as-a-Service (TaaS), a standardized infrastructure offering for institutions wanting to bring assets onchain without building their own blockchain stack. At the same event, World Liberty Financial — represented by Donald Trump Jr., CEO Zach Witkoff, and COO Zak Folkman — announced that its stablecoin USD1 would launch on Mantle. Mantle also announced a global RWA hackathon series and a developer scholarship program aimed at building institutional-grade tokenization talent.
Mantle also announced that tokenized assets on its platform would gain DEX liquidity access via Hyperliquid — connecting the compliant issuance layer to the most significant onchain derivatives and spot trading venue to emerge in the 2025-2026 cycle.
RWA Week Singapore — October 5–9
Running concurrently with TOKEN2049 Week, RWA Week Singapore operated as a parallel institutional track centered on Marina One West Tower. The week had three anchor events:
THE DEALFLOW — October 5. An invitation-only gathering for verified investors, family offices, and VCs at OUE Lounge Downtown Gallery. The event is part of a series also run in Hong Kong and Dubai, described by organizers as one of the highest-quality side events for verified institutional capital allocation conversations.
TOKENISED Singapore VIP Event — October 6. Co-hosted with TRM Labs, this closed-door event at Marina One West Tower brought together C-level attendees from institutional finance, compliance, and tokenization infrastructure. TRM Labs' co-hosting signals growing attention to the financial crime compliance layer of RWA tokenization — the KYC, AML, and sanctions screening infrastructure that institutions require before building on public blockchains.
RWA Summit Singapore — October 9. The flagship event of the week, with 70+ speakers, 1,200+ expected attendees, and 200+ institutional investors. Speakers included representatives from Franklin Templeton, Animoca Brands, Centrifuge, Alchemy Pay, dYdX Foundation, and Schroders. The Summit's framing — "from billions to trillions" — reflects the market's current self-assessment: the infrastructure and regulatory frameworks that would allow RWA to scale from the current $38-46 billion are the primary unsolved problem.
The Main Stage: Franklin Templeton, BlackRock, Nasdaq
At TOKEN2049 itself, the RWA presence was at the highest level of the agenda rather than relegated to side stages. Jenny Johnson, CEO of Franklin Templeton — whose BENJI fund is one of the two or three largest tokenized money market products in the world — was a confirmed speaker. Nikhil Sharma from BlackRock represented the issuer of BUIDL. Adena Friedman, Chair and CEO of Nasdaq, was on stage — Nasdaq having participated in the DTCC's July 15 live production trades on Canton Network.
The convergence of these three institutions on a single main stage at the world's largest crypto conference is itself a signal. Nasdaq, Franklin Templeton, and BlackRock are not crypto companies. Their presence as featured speakers — not panelists, not sidebar attendees, but confirmed main-stage participants — reflects where institutional attention has shifted since the previous TOKEN2049 Singapore edition.
Day 2 of the main conference also featured a session titled "Bridging Onchain Debt Markets with Real World Businesses" — a direct statement that the debt market tokenization conversation has moved from hypothetical to operational.
What the Singapore Week Signals
The geographic concentration of RWA activity in Singapore during this week is not coincidental. Singapore's Monetary Authority (MAS) has been the most consistently RWA-forward regulator in the world over the past three years. Project Guardian — MAS's industry collaboration on asset tokenization — has run live pilots with DBS, HSBC, JPMorgan, and others since 2022. The Electronic Trade Documents Act equivalents in the region, MLETR adoption progress in Singapore and neighboring jurisdictions, and Singapore's position as the regional hub for Asian institutional capital all make it the natural anchor for RWA institutional activity in Asia.
The week showed that RWA tokenization has reached a stage where it commands dedicated event infrastructure — not a track within a general crypto conference but multiple independent events drawing thousands of institutional participants, with its own speaker circuit, its own investor gatherings, and its own announcement calendar.
