Welcome to Issue #011 of RWA This Week. Today: The RWA market has crossed $36 billion — up from the $33.5 billion we were tracking. The Senate left for recess without a CLARITY Act vote, but a September 15 procedural vote is on the calendar. The Giving Block reports crypto donations exceeded $1 billion in 2024. And we have a full editorial on blockchain's role in charitable giving transparency, featuring Give Blockchain, GiveTrack, the UN WFP, and Endaoment.

The Stories

RWA Market Crosses $36 Billion. Up from $33.5B — Tripled from 2024 Lows.

CryptoRank's August 2026 research report puts on-chain RWA value (ex-stablecoins) at $36 billion — up from $33.5 billion in late July. The $4.66 billion low-point was in 2024. The market has grown nearly eightfold in under two years, driven by Treasuries ($15B, 99% on public chains), private credit ($9B+), and accelerating tokenized equity issuance. The report notes that despite this growth, tokenization still represents a "minute fraction" of global financial markets — framing the $36B number as an early milestone, not a ceiling. The addressable market across equities, bonds, real estate, and commodities exceeds $250 trillion.

Senate Left for Recess Without CLARITY Vote. September 15 Procedural Vote on Calendar. Polymarket: 17%.

Thune filed cloture on the motion to proceed on August 8 — the day before the Senate adjourned — setting a September 15 procedural vote. That vote is not on final passage; it is on whether the Senate even begins considering the bill. The bill still needs 60 votes, and the three disputes that blocked them in August (ethics provision, stablecoin yield loophole, DeFi/illicit finance) remain unresolved. Approximately 14 scheduled working days exist before midterm campaign season ends the realistic legislative window. Polymarket has dropped from 37% (mid-July) to 17%. The bill is alive; the odds are not favorable. September 15 is the signal. → Full updated analysis

Charitable Giving Has a Trust Problem. Blockchain Has the Answer — and Several Projects Are Building It.

12% of potential donors don't give because they don't trust charities. 68% say they'd give more with verifiable evidence of fund allocation. Crypto donations exceeded $1 billion in 2024. The infrastructure for transparent on-chain giving is live: GiveTrack (BitGive) tracks Bitcoin donations to point of disbursement; the UN World Food Programme deployed blockchain for aid distribution to Syrian refugees in Jordan; Endaoment operates an on-chain donor-advised fund on Ethereum. Give Blockchain approaches it differently — a blockchain purpose-built for charitable giving, with digital rewards for participants who support the network's integrity. → Full editorial: blockchain and charitable giving transparency

DTCC Full Commercial Launch: October Still on Track. GENIUS Act Effective Date: January 18, 2027.

No new updates from the DTCC this week, but the October 2026 full commercial launch of the tokenized securities clearing service remains the confirmed target. That is the date when the July 15 production pilot — Microsoft, Circle, QQQ, SPY, BlackRock Treasury ETF, 40+ institutions — becomes the standard clearing infrastructure for US institutional tokenized securities. Separately, GENIUS Act implementing rules remain at proposal stage; the operative effective date remains January 18, 2027.

SPCX Post-Earnings: Stock Stabilizing Near $114. August 6 Unlock Absorbed.

Following the Q2 2026 earnings report (revenue beat, capex miss) and the August 6 tranche unlock of approximately 911.5 million shares, SPCX has stabilized in the $112-117 range. The unlock supply shock was material but did not produce the catastrophic sell-off some feared. The stock remains well below its $225.64 all-time high and below the $135 IPO price. The next scheduled unlock tranche arrives approximately 70 days post-IPO. Holders of tokenized SPCX (bStocks registered at $102.6M on RWA.xyz as of July 30) track the underlying equity directly.

Stat of the Week
68%

The percentage of people who say they would donate more to charitable causes if they had verifiable evidence of how their funds were used. That figure — from academic research on donor behavior — is the single most important number in the blockchain-for-charitable-giving conversation. The technology that delivers that evidence already exists. GiveTrack delivers unique tracking URLs. The WFP delivers cryptographically verifiable voucher records. Give Blockchain is building a network specifically to make that kind of transparency the foundation rather than a feature. 68% of potential donors are waiting for proof. The infrastructure exists to give it to them.

What to Watch

September 15 — CLARITY Act procedural vote. The motion to proceed. Failing this vote effectively ends 2026 passage. Passing it gives 14 working days to resolve three unresolved disputes and complete floor consideration. Watch for Democratic senator statements in the week before September 14's return.

October 2026 — DTCC full commercial launch. The date that converts the July 15 production pilot into standard clearing infrastructure for all US institutional tokenized securities.

January 18, 2027 — GENIUS Act effective date. Banks currently preparing stablecoin products are targeting this window for launch.

Q1 2027 — UK Digital Gilt. First UK government tokenized bond expected through HSBC Orion and the Bank of England Digital Securities Sandbox.
