Welcome to Issue #004 of RWA This Week. This week: Goldman Sachs launches a tokenized real estate fund on its own blockchain infrastructure, Japan completes its first real-time securities settlement using a digital currency, DTCC launch is now two weeks out, PwC and Citibank both published major institutional reports on tokenization this month, and we recap the SpaceX tokenization story that broke last week.

The Stories

Goldman Sachs Launches Tokenized Real Estate Fund via GS DAP, Apex Group, and Archax

Goldman Sachs has partnered with Apex Group and UK-based digital asset exchange Archax to launch a tokenized real estate fund on Goldman's Digital Asset Platform (GS DAP). The fund is one of the most high-profile tokenized real estate products launched by a bulge-bracket bank to date, reflecting Goldman's accelerating move from blockchain infrastructure builder to active product issuer. Archax, which holds FCA approval as a regulated digital securities exchange, provides the trading and custody infrastructure. This is the institutional real estate tokenization use case that the sector has been waiting for a top-five investment bank to execute. Japan Completes First Real-Time DVP Settlement for Security Tokens Using DCJPY

Japan has completed its first real-time Delivery vs. Payment (DVP) settlement for tokenized securities using DCJPY, a digital yen developed by a consortium of Japanese banks. DVP settlement — where the security and the payment transfer simultaneously, eliminating settlement risk — is one of the core technical benefits of tokenized securities over traditional T+2 settlement. Japan completing this on a digital currency rail is the clearest demonstration yet that the infrastructure for atomic settlement is live and functioning outside the US. DTCC T-Minus Two Weeks — PwC and Citibank Both Publish Major Tokenization Reports

With the DTCC tokenized settlement launch approximately two weeks away, institutional research is intensifying. PwC published "Minting the future: Why asset tokenization is accelerating" on June 4 — a comprehensive analysis of tokenization adoption across financial services. Citibank published "Tokenization 2030: Wall Street On-Chain" on June 1, projecting a multi-trillion dollar on-chain market by the end of the decade. When PwC and Citi publish major reports in the same week the DTCC prepares to launch tokenized settlement, that's a sector reaching inflection. → Full DTCC coverage

SpaceX SPCX: One Week On — What We Learned

Last week's SpaceX IPO launched simultaneously on Nasdaq and multiple blockchains in the most-watched tokenized equity event in history. One week on: the Backpack/Sunrise Solana version (1:1 backed by real shares, full ACATS redemption) has emerged as the structurally soundest product. The xStocks versions from Bybit and Kraken have confirmed their unavailability to US, Canadian, UK, and Australian residents. OKX and Coinbase perpetual futures are price exposure only — not equity. The market has begun pricing the products differently based on their actual legal structures, which is exactly how a maturing tokenized equities market should function. → Full SpaceX analysis

Curve Founder Proposes On-Chain Debt Tokenization Mechanism

Curve Finance founder Michael Egorov has proposed a debt tokenization mechanism built on Curve's infrastructure, adding the DeFi-native lending angle to the debt tokenization category. The proposal would allow structured debt to be tokenized and used as collateral within DeFi protocols — extending the RWA/DeFi composability that protocols like Centrifuge and Maple Finance have been building toward. The Curve founder's involvement signals that DeFi's most sophisticated builders are increasingly treating RWA as a primary use case rather than a niche vertical. Source: RWA.xyz News

Plus the SpaceX tokenization breakdown, Fortune Crypto 100 RWA analysis, and the GROW adoption story.

Stat of the Week
$2T

Daily payments volume processed by The Clearing House — the bank-owned payments operator that announced a tokenized deposit network for 2027. The DTCC clears $114T annually in securities. Add The Clearing House's $2T daily payment volume and the scale of what's transitioning to blockchain infrastructure becomes clear.

What to Watch Next Week

DTCC go-live — now inside two weeks. Formal launch communications and participant guidance expected imminently. Any delay announcement would be significant market news.

Goldman Sachs tokenized real estate fund detail — initial reports are thin on specifics. Watch for investor documents, AUM targets, and the full custody/trading structure via Archax.

Japan DVP follow-through — Japan's successful DCJPY settlement is the first, not the last. Watch for additional institutional participants announcing plans to use the DCJPY rail.

SpaceX SPCX secondary market formation — the first week of trading established price discovery. Week two will tell us whether meaningful secondary volume is forming on the tokenized versions versus the Nasdaq listing.
